Job Overview
We are seeking a talented Industrial Design Engineer with a drive for excellence and a background in electronics to join our dynamic team. He or she shall have a strong background in the industry of design and electronics, have a passion for innovation, and be committed to making products that make a difference. As an Industrial Design Engineer, you will design, develop, and integrate electronics into wearable safety devices to ensure both functionality and user-centric design.
Key Responsibilities
Product Design: Come up with creative, user-friendly, and beautiful designs of wearable safety devices.
Electronics Integration: Integrate the electronics into the product design seamlessly to ensure flawless performance and usability.
Prototyping: Come up with prototypes to validate design concepts and test for functionality.
3D Modelling: Accurate 3-D models and renderings of product designs done with CAD software.
Material Selection: Choose materials appropriately, along with methods of manufacture, to adhere to design and performance specifications.
Collaboration: Work in close conjunction with cross-functional teams, which may include electronics engineers, software developers, and product designers to ensure increased collaboration in product development.
User-Centric Design: Use user feedback and ergonomics to iterate designs for more usable and comfortable products.
Documentation: Come up with detailed documentation of design processes, materials, and specifications.
Compliance: The designs should show conformity to all the relevant standards and regulations.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Electronics Engineering, or related discipline.
Experience: 3+ years in industrial design experience with a focus on electronics integration; preferably in wearable technology or consumer electronics.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks, Rhino, or AutoCAD.
Deep knowledge of electronics and experience with integrating electronic components into product designs.
Experience in prototyping and testing of electronic devices
Knowledge of manufacturing processes and material properties
Design Skills: Good aesthetic sense with the ability to come up with designs that are user-friendly
Problem-Solving: Nice problem-solving skills, with troubleshooting capability for design and electronics-related issues
Attention to Detail: Good attention to detail and a drive to deliver top-notch quality work
Team Player: Ability to function as a team player in a fast-moving and dynamic start-up environment.
Innovative Mindset: Interest and enthusiasm towards innovation and existing industry trends in industrial design and electronics.
Preferred Qualifications:
Safety-critical system design experience
Familiarity with regulations governing wearable electronics
Experience with user-centered design methodologies
